Question: Will a roof coating make my roof water proof. Answer: No. Roof coatings do virtually nothing to make a roof waterproof. That is because they are not able to stretch and flex at the stress points where roofs twist, stretch and tear. Is there a solution?: Yes! Apply EternaBond® fabric-backed WebSeal® MicroSealant Tape over all the roof seams, penetrations, holes and tears before coating with our or anyone else's roof coating.  The result will be a roof that is better than the day it was born! WebSeal® is also great for awning repairs, gutter sealing and for making air-tight ductwork connections, particularly where flexible ductwork joins together or joins rigid ductwork.

WebSeal® MicroSealant Tape is 30 mil thick and is available in rolls 4" wide x 25' long, and larger 50' long rolls that can be ordered in widths of 2", 4", 6", 8", 12", 18", 24", 36" and 48". WebSeal® has a woven backing coated with our advanced MicroSealant. Easy to work with and extremely flexible, WebSeal® forms around almost anything from a seam or tear to a screw head. Once on, it stays flexible. If properly applied, it never loses its adhesion. When used in a place exposed to sunlight, WebSeal® is easily protected from UV rays by using our UV Protector or quality roof coating. The UV Protector brushes on easily and is included in our SR-50 and SR-200 RV Seam Repair kits. It can be tinted to match almost any color. In fact, several roof coating manufacturers now include WebSeal® in their warranted roof restoration systems. Economical and easy to use. Great on EPDM, TPO, most PVC, hypolon, all metals, modified, concrete, masonry, wood, etc. EternaBond WebSeal® 4" x 5' kit includes a 4" x 5' piece of EternaBond® WebSeal® and a prep pad inside a resealable clamshell package.

I own a commercial waterproofing company and use this product for deck coating applications , i recently purchased a RV and when i decided to reseal the roof it was a no brainer that Eternabond was gonna be used , after several years of use i have never had a leak of any . If your gonna do it , do it right .

repair of a 35' fifth wheel January 4, 2011

A friend of mine and I have 1998 Terry fifth wheels that sit in the South Carolina sun all year.  In 2009 we arrived at our sites to note that along the edges of the roof, the roof was torn in several spots on both trailers.  Also, on one trailer almost all of the "white" was gone and only "black" rubber membrane was showing.  What to do?

    We ordered several rolls of Eternabond WebSeal, removed the side molding holding the roof to the fifth wheel (1000 screws) and put 6" wide eternabond the whole length of both trailers.  We folded about 2" over the roof and then put the molding back in place.

   Next we coated the entire roof with a costly liquid coating.  The results - perfect.  The eternabond tape is holding up well after 1.5 years along with the coated roof.

   I would highly recommend this product.  It does what it says it will do and the repairs last.
